Winifred F. Recker, age 89, died Sunday morning, April 2, 2006, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born August 30, 1916, to the late James and Della (Callahan) Dunkel, in Appleton, where she was a resident all of her life. Winnie had been married to Robert I. Recker, Sr. for 46 years. She had been employed by F. W. Woolworths, Action Products and retired from Lieber Home Center. Winnie enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and the world, spending time at the cottage and with her grandchildren and was an avid bingo player. She was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons, Robert I. (Mary) Recker, Jr., Orinda, CA; James R. Recker, Indianapolis, IN; Harry T. Recker, Clewiston, FL; William C. (Angie) Recker, Appleton; three former daughters-in-law, Leslie, Deanne and Carolyn; 11 grandchildren, Rob, Rich, Michael, Caroline, Jim, Dan, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Jennifer, Tara and Tiffany; eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially, Helen Casey and Marge Radtke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert I. Recker, Sr., May 3, 1987 and two sisters, Patsy Delrow and Helen Pireaux. The funeral liturgy for Winifred will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, April 6, 2006, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHUIRCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, with Father Larry Abler officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 6 to 8 pm and at the church on Thursday, from 9:30 am until the time of the mass. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7:00 pm, Wednesday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
