Wilma Springer, age 81, passed away at Manor Care Health Services on Thursday, June 19, 2008. Wilma was born in Oklahoma on September 5, 1926, daughter of the late John and Louise (Gasswint) Andress. She married Kenneth W. Springer on February 26, 1949 in Appleton; Ken preceded her in death in December of 2001. For many years, Wilma served as the County Board Supervisor in Calumet County.
She was also involved with the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Wilma is survived by two sons: Steven (Gloria) Springer of Shiocton and Michael (Linda) Springer of Eagle River; a daughter: Cindy Springer of Appleton; two grandchildren: John (Amy) Springer of Oshkosh and their daughter Morgan and Jennifer (John) Suprise and their son Jacob; a brother: John (Sue) Andress of Florida; two sisters: Bess Drake of Illinois and Ann Malbeauf of California. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Nell Clark, a half sister Edith Hayes and her husband Ken in 2001.

A funeral liturgy for Wilma will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Entombment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral mass.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the many caregivers, physicians, and nurses who cared for Wilma. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten by our family.
