Died unexpectedly on December 5, 2017 surrounded by her family while listening to “Proud Mary” and Christmas carols. Willie was born on October 22, 1935 in Manitowoc to William and Hildegarde (nee Rueden) Grapentin. Willie was joined in marriage to Gerald Vanderloop on August 12, 1953. Willie loved flowers, golf, shopping, going out to eat, signing in, and having an Old Fashioned.
Willie is survived by her children: Gerri (Jeff) Yingling, Pat (Dave) Doering, Bill (Denise), Teresa (Jeffery) Robinson, Jim (Sue), and Mary (Paul) Dobbert. Grandmother to Jenny (Rob) Frelich, Phillip (Erica) Yingling, Tracy Alger, Mark Doering, Kristine (Jake) Jansen, Kevin Vanderloop, Chris Wettstein, Nicole (Bill) Guerts, Allen (Kayla) Johnson, Caleb Robinson, Amanda, Bryan, and Heather Vanderloop, Mitchell Daubon, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Sister of Don (Dorothy) Grapentin, sister-in-law to Bernice Vanderloop, Ruth Vanderloop, Duane (Dolores) Vanderloop, and Clarence Weyers. Further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Willie is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Gerald, her parents, brother Rich (the late Dorothy) Grapentin, in-laws Don Vanderloop, Ken Vanderloop and Elaine Weyers.
Visitation will be held at St. Katherine Drexel Parish-St. Mary site (119 W. 7th Street Kaukauna) on Saturday December 9, 2017 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating, assisted by Deacon Steve Vande Hey, Pastoral Leader. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Willie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center, especially Pam the music therapist.
