William "Willie" Edwards

William “Willie” Edwards, 70, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Willie was born on January 1, 1948 to Floyd and Marguerite (Watson) Edwards at home in Spirit Lake, Iowa. On June 10, 1988 he was united in marriage to Sandy (Surdell) Boettcher. Willie worked for American Can for over 30 years retiring in 2008. After retirement they spent summers on Lake Winnebago or at their trailer in Door County. They loved spending winters in Florida and have built many wonderful friendships. He was an avid fisherman, Packer and Badger fan. Willie loved golfing and would play, watch or read about it any chance he could get. He took great pride in his yard and often enjoyed watching the numerous eagles and other wildlife that spent time there. Willie always put others first and enjoyed helping everyone. Willie was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. He was also a long standing member of Ducks Unlimited.

Willie is survived by his wife Sandy, children; Eric Edwards, Cara Edwards, Jodi (Rick) Stark, Perri (Vicki) Boettcher, grandchildren; Ashley Stark, Garrett (fiancé Sarah)Stark, Isabella Boettcher, Alaina Hansteadt, and Brady Hansteadt, siblings; Tom (Tootie) Edwards, Robert Edwards, and Leanne Smith, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister LaDonna .

The memorial service for Willie will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 3:00 PM at BETHANY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 530 W. Parkway, Appleton, with Rev Mark Henke officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
