“Willie”

William M. Sackett, age 85, of Appleton, died Monday evening, April 10, 2006, at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King. He was born July 28, 1920, to the late Ralph and Flora (Jorden) Sackett, in New London. Willie served with the U. S. Army during WW II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Following his discharge he became an area resident. Willie had been employed as a painter and a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He is survived by a son, Raymond (Jodi) Sackett, Kaukauna; a daughter, Carrie Ann Bock, Appleton; a step-son, Gary (Diane) Tesch, Appleton; a special friend, Barbara Tyrrell, Appleton; five grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a special family, the Peters Family; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Sackett, a son-in-law, Larry Bock, three brothers and two sisters. A private family memorial service will be held. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 13, 2006, from 4 to 7 pm.
