Age 85, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. William was born on February 14, 1918, in Daggett, Michigan, to the late William E. and Gertrude C. (Dunham) Sinkler. He married Ruth Nau on January 27, 1940; she preceded him in death on January 5, 1992. William was employed at the Lakeview Mill of the Kimberly Clark Corporation for over 30 years. Survivors include his special friend, Dora Stumpf and her family, Appleton; his sister, Orpha Correll, Ann Arbor, Michigan; his grandchildren, William (April) Richardson; Thomas Richardson; Nancy Richardson; Marianne Richardson; Kathy (Dan) McConell; his great granddaughter, Arianna Richardson; his son-in-law, Donald Richardson, Wenatchee, Washington; his nieces, Joyce (Charles) Bayer, Jean (Duane) Maves, Alice (Ronald) Velie and Margaret Nau, all of Appleton; his great nieces and nephews, and his great great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his special friends at The Rainbow Club and The Heritage. William was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol (Sinkler) Richardson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2003, at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke and Vicar David Ruddat officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Cherry Meadows for their loving care.
