HASELOW, WILLIAM J.

William John Haselow, age 78, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, after a courageous battle with cancer. William was born on March 9, 1928, in Milwaukee, to the late Arthur C. and Viola (Plagemann) Haselow. He married Carol A. Hesselman on September 4, 1952, in Neenah; she preceded him in death on September 24, 2002. William was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University and his career as a Paper Chemist focused on the Quality Control Department of several paper mills; he retired in 1995. William proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Boxer. He enjoyed woodworking of all kinds, especially crafting furniture. William also enjoyed hunting and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include his children, Dr. William (Sandra) Haselow, Mequon, Wisconsin; Jane Haselow, Portage, Michigan; Dr. John S. (Laura) Haselow, Cary, North Carolina; his eight grandchildren; and his brother, Dr. John (Gloria) Haselow, Neenah. He is further survived by a special friend, Nancy Wolf. William was preceded in death by his brother, Fred. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Rev. Jane Anderson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday prior to the services. Military honors will be observed at the funeral home. The family would like to direct any memorials to the Fox Valley Humane Association or Camp Manitowish in Boulder Junction.
