Age 91, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, December 21, 2007 at his home. He was born on November 1, 1916 in Appleton to the late William and Clara (Ecker) Storch. Bud delivered for Western Union while attending Appleton High School, from which he graduated in 1936. During High School he was a stand-out pitcher in the Legion League, and never lost his passion for baseball. On June 3, 1939 he married Ms. Roma A. Solie and they shared just under 61 blessed years until she preceded him in death on May 5, 2000. Bud was a long-time employee, and a retiree of Kimberly-Clark in the Research and Development sector. Bud was at one time a board member for the Appleton Foxes. In addition to baseball, he loved golf, woodworking, the Packers, and the Cubs.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Lynn A. (Dick) Miller, Sister Bay; grandchildren: Terri Miller, Kimberly; Mike (Peg) Miller, Wauwatosa; Mark (Pat) Miller, Madison; Julie (Jeff) Braun, Appleton; great-grandchildren: Jeffery and Jason Witthuhn; Vanessa, Olivia, Grace, and Aubrie Brochtrup; Kate Morgan; Sarah, Sean, and Ann Miller; Gwen and Sonia Miller; Blair and Hannah Braun; sisters-in-law: Mary Solie, Palo Alto, CA; Mary Storch, Kaukauna; Carole Solie, Appleton. In addition to his parents, and his loving wife, Roma, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery; sister: June (Charles) Gooding; brother: Kenneth Storch; brothers-in-law: Allen Solie and Riley Solie.
Funeral services for Mr. Storch will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church (209 South Allen Street) with Revs. Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum within Highland Memorial Park. Memorials in Willard’s name can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
