Reiter, Wilbert J.
Wilbert J. Reiter, age 84, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2005, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1921, to the late Louis and Erna (Carstenson) Reiter, in Stetsonville, Wisconsin and had been an Appleton resident for over 50 years. Wilbert served as a First Lieutenant with the U. S. Army, during WW II, in Italy. He had been employed by Riverside paper as a machine operator, until his retirement. Wilbert was a craftsman in woodworking, an artist in oil painting and was very proud of his yard and garden. He was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church. Survivors include his son, Gregory J. Reiter, Appleton; his granddaughters, Kristen Reiter and Heather (Jake) Youstra, The girls were the apples of his eye; a brother, Louis “Mickey” (Geraldine) Reiter, Menasha; and a sister Lucille Paul, Beaver Dam. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Handevidt) Reiter, a sister Clarice Neubauer and his loyal companion, Dexter. It was Wilbert’s request that there be no services.
