Age 73, passed away Monday, September 4, 2006, at his home.

He was born February 25, 1933, in Oshkosh, the son of the late Sylvester (Adrian) and Annette (Post) Ellis, and the late Gordon Ellis. Wayne was united in marriage to Joyce Papendorf on August 10, 1982, in Appleton. Wayne was employed at Wirtz Sporting Goods and Beverage before his retirement in 1979. He loved fishing, reading, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Karen (Wesley) Foth, Almond, Wis., and two sons, Scott Ellis, Appleton, and Jerry (Debra) Ellis, Neenah. Wayne is further survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Wayne will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, with Gaylen VanLoon and Stanley March officiating. Urn burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
