Wayne A. Wagnitz

Wayne A. Wagnitz, age 82, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born in Kaukauna on January 18, 1924, the son of the late Alfred and Pearl (Burkhart) Wagnitz. Wayne retired from Wisconsin Electric Power Company (now WE Energies) in 1986, after over 30 years of service, and was also a World War II Army veteran. Wayne is survived by a daughter: Lori (Charles) Wagnitz-Harvey of Milwaukee; two sons: Wayne Wagnitz, Jr. and James Wagnitz, both of Pickerel; their mother: Karen (Sager) Pirus; two grandsons: Jordan and Charles; a sister-in-law: Gail Wagnitz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Ivyl (Howard) Voet and Fordyse (Clayton) DeBruin, and two brothers: Fred (Doris) Wagnitz and James Wagnitz.

Funeral services for Wayne will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the funeral home chapel, with Fr. Patrick Beno officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of St. Paul Villa, where Wayne most recently resided, and to the staff and chaplains at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care and support.
