Warren E. Franzke, age 87, of Appleton, died Sunday evening. September 16, 2007. He was born September 15, 1920, to the late Oscar Robert and Sarah (Huebner) Franzke, in Woodville, moved to Appleton at the age of 9 and graduated from Appleton High School. He married Dorothy Van Horn on September 2, 1942; she preceded him in death in 1968. Warren farmed until 1981 on West Wisconsin Avenue and was an insurance agent. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ellen J. (Drescher) Franzke; his sister, Violet Drescher, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Reverend Chester Franzke, Allen Franzke and Oscar Franzke, Jr. Funeral services for Warren will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at EMMANUEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 740 East College Avenue, with Reverend Mark Geisthardt officiating. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, from 9:00 am, until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
