Age 80, died peacefully Saturday evening, November 16, 2002. He was born July 18, 1922, to the late Emil H. and Ida (Peters) Dreier, in Brillion and had been an Appleton resident most of his life. Wally served with the U. S. Army during WW II, in the European Theater, with the 4th Armored Division and had been employed by Consolidated Papers as an instrument technician for 37 years, retiring in 1980. Wally will be remembered as a very caring and giving person. He showed this as a 4-H leader for many years, as well as, his many hours of volunteerism with the Salvation Army and at St. Joseph Food Pantry. He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Lillian C. (Lewellyn) Dreier, to whom he had been married for 60 years; three sons, Thomas J. (Louise) Dreier, Appleton; and their children, Chad (Jill) Dreier, Joel Dreier and his fiancée, Shannon Malugade, Adam Dreier; Richard L. (Dianne) Dreier, Appleton; and their children, Sheri Dreier and her fiancé, Aaron Wilde, Jenny (Jesse) Wyngaard, Kelly Dreier, Katie Dreier; James J. (Linda) Dreier, Appleton; and their children, Lori Dreier, Michelle Dreier, Nicole Dreier; a daughter, Debra J. (John) Ebel, Appleton; and their children, Sara Ebel, Matthew Ebel; two great granddaughters, Hannah and Allison Wyngaard; and a sister, Laverne Engel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Lawrence Dreier and two sisters, Evelyn Lee and Mabel Reisner. Funeral services for Walter will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 22, 2002, at BETHANY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 530 West Parkway Blvd., with Reverend Mark Henke officiating. Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery, Mackville. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 4 – 8 pm, Thursday and at the church from 10:00 am, Friday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
