Age 83, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2003 at an Appleton nursing home. Vivian was born in Chicago on August 26, 1919, daughter of the late John and Marie (Lundgren) Nelson. On March 25, 1940 she married Robert Traynor at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Chicago; he preceded her in death in 1962. She dedicated her life to raising her eight children. While her health and eyesight permitted, Vivian enjoyed needlework, crafts, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by seven children: Thomas (Millie) Traynor of Oconto; Catherine (Ralph) Todzy of Marinette; Donald (Elizabeth) Traynor of Reno, Nevada; Ronald (Victoria) Traynor of Appleton; Brian (Kathy) Traynor of Sullivan, Wisconsin; Terry Traynor of Neenah; and Joseph (Karen) Traynor of Knapp, Wisconsin; seventeen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1962, a daughter Barbara in 1958, two brothers, and three sisters.
A memorial service for Vivian will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at the funeral home chapel with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service.
