Tuyls, Vivian M.
Vivian M. Tuyls, age 85, of Combined Locks, passed away Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008, following a short illness. She was born December 6, 1922, to the late Henry and Kathleen (Weyenberg) Schommer, in Freedom and had been a Combined Locks resident since 1993. Vivian and Roland retired to the Rost Lake area and then returned to Combined Locks. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, watching her birds and caring for her children. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Vivian will be deeply missed by her 11 children, Judi (Harold) Micke, Crivitz; Patti (Ron) Fleming, Combined Locks; Bonnie Tuyls, Gillett; Tina (Rich) Betters, Sherwood; Roland Tuyls, Jr. “Butch”, Appleton; Gary (Karri) Tuyls, Nanaimo, Vancouver, BC; Tim (Linda) Tuyls, Hollandtown; Brian (Pam) Tuyls, Kaukauna; Ron (Annette) Tuyls, Darboy; Greg (Brenda) Tuyls, Harshaw, WI; Dan (Kris) Tuyls, Sherwood; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; three sisters, Mary Allgeyer, Kaukauna; Lois Schmidt, Combined Locks; Kay Sawlsville, Kaukauna; two brothers-in-law, Robert Schmidt and Jerry Sawlsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland E. Tuyls October 25, 1995, a grandson, Jesse Muthig, a daughter-in-law, Karen Tuyls, two sisters, Alvina Schommer and Connie Hardy, three brothers in infancy, four brothers-in-law, Robert Allgeyer, Fran Gordon, Tom Hardy and Robert “Buzzy” Boreson. The funeral liturgy for Vivian will be held at 5:00 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2008, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 E. Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Father Jim Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Friends and relatives may call at the church from 2:00 pm, Thursday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
The children of Vivian would like to express a special thank you to the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital and Dr. Jack Meyer for the outstanding and loving care they gave their mother and family.
