Virginia H. "Ginny" Wein, 94, died on August 22, 2024. She was born in Sheboygan, WI on May 7, 1930, daughter of Frank and Laura (Uhrig) Heibel.
Ginny was an avid nature lover and shared that passion with her grandsons. In her later years, when her mobility was limited, she found joy in weekend country drives, each journey filled with the hope of encountering seasonal wildflowers, turkeys, deer, eagles, and an array of Wisconsin’s birds. Spotting cranes and pelicans brought her particular delight and the beauty of snowy winters enchanted her, especially when she could watch large snowglobe snowflakes descend from the sky. These peaceful country rides ultimately led to one of her favorite coffee shops, where she savored the simple pleasure of a well-brewed cup of coffee. Ginny had a love of books and worked as a librarian at St. Aloysius School in Kaukauna from 1982 to 1990, where she enjoyed every minute of her work. She was very passionate about folk dancing and was a member of the Folk Dancers of the Fox Valley from 1981 until 2016.
Virginia is survived by her children; Geoffrey (Laurie) Wein, Gregory (Diane) Wein and Terri Wein. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Christopher, Nathaniel, Cameron (Kyle) and William, a sister; Agnes Leubner and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William, siblings Joseph Heibel, Margaret (Rudolph) Buchholz, Rudolph Heibel, Marcella (Clarence) Jacobs, Jerome (Shirley) Heibel and brother-in-law Thomas Leubner.
In accordance with Virginia's wishes, no formal services will be held. A celebration of Virginia's life will take place within the family.
