Age 89, of Appleton, died on November 9, 2003 following a short illness. She was born on July 3, 1914 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Edward Deichen and Molly (Korsch) Deichen. She spent most of her life in Appleton. Viola was united in marriage to Earl Herman Belling on September 23, 1939 in Appleton, sharing 50+ years together.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1926; a member of Fidelity Chapter #94, Order of Eastern Star; Appleton Medical Auxiliarylry, and Women’s Auxiliary of E.M.B.A.
Survivors include two daughters: Lynn (Gordon) LaCombe, Ridgecrest, California and Christine (Bill) Dornfeld, Appleton, a son David (Theresa) Belling, Fort Worth Texas; seven grandchildren: Laurie (Bob) Campbell, Suzanne (John) Evans, Edward LaCombe, Christine LaCombe, Michelle Dornfeld, Dave (Mandi) Dornfeld, and Matt Dornfeld (fiancé Lori); three great grandchildren: Hannah and Callah Dornfeld and Olivia Campbell. She is also survived by a sister, Harriet Deichen, Ridge Crest, CA and many dear friends. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Earl and her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 1:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church (209 S. Allen St.) with Pastor Kurt Kovanen officiating. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. A memorial is being established for Trinity Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank Brewster Village doctors and staff, for their care and concern.
