Age 90, passed away at Parkside Care Center on Monday, December 29, 2003. He was born on March 4, 1913 in Kimberly, son of the late Martin and Mary (Coleman) Wydeven. On September 7, 1935 he married Lucina Kobussen. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Vincent worked 44 years at Kimberly Clark which included three years in Mexico. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and even rode them competitively. He was a gifted flower gardener. Vincent loved to spend time at his cottage in Mountain, Wisconsin. Being Irish, he loved to sing and teach Irish songs to his children.
Vincent is survived by his wife Lucina, children: Beverly (Jerry Van Toll of Kimberly, Sharon (Stan) Gracyalny of Kaukauna, Jim (Judy) Wydeven of Kaukauna, Lynn (Joe) Strick of Combined Locks and Kay (Duane) DeGroot of Kimberly; special foster children: Barb Gifford and Rod Delfosse; grandchildren: Tom, Mary, Kristine, Katie, David, Leeann, Danny, Jessie, Brenda, Billy, Mark, David, Greg, Julie, James, Angie and John; 30 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; foster grandchildren: Adam Delfosse and Tricia and Donnie Fiebelkorn; and a son-in-law, Glen Phillips. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rebecca Phillips (April 1990); grandson, Alan Wydeven; great granddaughter, Amie Van Berkel; and 13 siblings.
The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy. Burial will be at Holy Name Cemetery.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Parkside Care Center for their outstanding care.
Memorials in Vincent’s name can be given to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
