Age 78, died on April 5, 2002 at Brewster Village. Vincent was born on December 29, 1923, in New York City, son of the late Alfonso and Rose (Cariello) Siani. Vincent married Ruth Janke in Clintonville on August 19, 1950, and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage, until she preceded him in death in 1997. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the European Theater of Operations. Vincent was a typesetter in the newspaper and printing industry, before retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Bernadette Parish, Appleton, where he was an active volunteer. Vincent also volunteered for the Banta Retiree Active Volunteer Organization. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and dancing to polka music. Vincent enjoyed baseball, and was a lifelong New York Yankee fan. Vincent is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald (Mary Lou) Siani, Appleton; his brother, Louis (Dorothy), Florida; his sister, Ann (Vincent) D’Aquila, New York State; and 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Christopher Siani, Appleton. He is further survived by a niece, nephews and his friend Grace Wege. Vincent was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ernie (Grace); father and mother-in-law, William (Bertha) Janke; and brother-in-law, Donald Janke. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, April 8, 2002, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton. Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, April 7, from 4 until 7 p.m., and again at the church on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be held at the cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village for their loving care of Vincent. Vincent was a caring man who was well liked, and he will be greatly missed.
