Vilas J. Dorschner

Age 95, died Friday evening, April 12, 2002, due to complications following hip surgery. He was born June 5, 1906, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Dorschner, in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Vilas served with the U. S. Marine Corps during WW II and had been employed by Appleton Coated Papers for 40 years, as an accountant. He was a member of the Appleton Coated Paper Quarter Century Club. Survivors include his nieces, Joyce Schulz, Washington; Mary (Dick) Rogers, Neenah; Ruth Kissinger, Menasha; Kathleen (Roger) Meisner, Kaukauna; Edna Berg, Cecil; Carol Zygowica, Chicago; Karen Gottschalk, Chicago; his neighbors and friends, Carol and Jack Forster. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leola Dorschner, on August 14, 1988, three brothers, Gilbert (Eleanor) Dorschner, Art (Marion) Dorschner, Orville (Margaret) Dorschner; two sisters, Alice Hunt and Janet Mangelsdorf. Funeral services for Vilas will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, April 15, 2002, at the funeral home, with Reverend Larry Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:30 pm, until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
