Vicki Setzer, age 59, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2007, from cancer. She was born in Wausau on July 31, 1948, daughter of Wallace Schultz and the late Dorothy (Drew) Schultz. She attended high school in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and received her Master's Degree in Education from Marian College in Fond du Lac. She devoted her life to raising her three children and touched the lives of many other children through her teaching, most recently at Huntley Elementary School. She enjoyed the arts and was always eager to attend the symphony or events at the P.A.C. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and the company of her cat, Nike. She was the proud grandmother of Blake, Hunter, Ava, Quinn and Colton, who will join the family in November.
Vicki is survived by three children: Kelly (Mike) Scheder of LaFarge, Wisconsin; Bryan (Molly) Setzer of Green Bay; and Kyle (Tara) Setzer of Hortonville. Her father is Wallace Schultz of King, Wisconsin. Siblings include: Linda (Evan) McAteer of Mazomanie; and Daniel (Sue) Schultz of Woodruff. Her former husband is James Setzer of Kimberly. Grandchildren are Blake, Hunter, Ava and Quinn. Nieces and nephews include: Nicholas, Michelle, Elle, and Will. Other special people include many relatives and friends in the area. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Schultz. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Huntley Elementary School Library.
Memorial services for Vicki will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 10, 2007 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 E. College Avenue in Appleton with Rev. Martin Koeller officiating. Interment will be in Appleton's Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the church on Monday after 10:00 AM.
