After an unwavering and courageous fifteen-year battle against cancer, while surrounded by her families, Vicki received her most beautiful gift of everlasting peace and comfort in the arms of her gracious Lord Jesus on Saturday, April 22, 2006. Vicki was born on March 14, 1957, the daughter of JoAnn (Seeman) and Richard Soave. On August 9, 1980, she and her high school sweetheart, Donald Schumann stood together before God and received the sacrament of marriage, which they celebrated for over 25 years.
The Lord blessed Vicki and Don with two very loving, strong and understanding children, Danielle and Michael, both of Appleton. Vicki is further survived by her parents, JoAnn Soave of Crest Hill, Illinois and Richard Soave of Estero, Florida; brothers David (Paula) Soave of Morris, Illinois, Douglas Soave of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Master Sergeant Dennis (Diane) Soave of Sacramento, California; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Olga and Arthur Schumann of Lockport, Illinois; a brother-in-law David (Carol) Schumann of Schaumburg, Illinois, a sister-in-law Debra Schumann of Denver, Colorado. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew completed Vicki’s circle of family.
The funeral liturgy for Vicki will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence Street in Appleton with Fr. Larry Abler, OFM Cap. Officiating and assisted by Deacon Roy Baumruk. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00PM and again Wednesday at the church from 9:00AM until the hour of the service.
Vicki deeply appreciated, cherished and loved her many relatives and close friends who so many times set aside their own lives to listen, support, assist, provide care and most of all encouraged her for the past fifteen years. Your devoted thoughts, actions and prayers gave Vicki the added strength and faith to bravely face and overcome her most difficult times. In addition, the family would like to extend their profound gratitude to the many medical and nursing professionals who shared the very best of their talent, time, commitment, compassion, patience and understanding. Your gifts allowed our family to share an additional and precious fifteen years together. We are especially indebted to Dr. Jan Kasperbauer and Dr. Robert Foote of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and Dr. Bradley Lauderdale and Dr. Catherine Dremel of the Affinity Medical Group in Appleton and Menasha, Wisconsin. We will forever be grateful for all you have done for our family.
Dearest Vicki, we will love you and hold you in our hearts for the rest of our days‚ May the good Lord grant you life eternal and bless your soul both now and forever and unto the ages of ages‚ Amen
Dear GOD, Let Me Remember…
THY will, not my will, be done.
I will to will THY will.
THY will is my salvation
To be willing is to be COURAGEOUS.
