Age 83, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Brewster Village. Verna was born on February 2, 1921, in Appleton, to the late Arthur and Anna (Rechner) Timm. She married George T. Doerfler on October 17, 1942, in Appleton; he preceded her in death on March 15, 2000. Verna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an accomplished seamstress, baker and painter. Verna was also a retired, long-time employee of Fanny Farmer Candies in Appleton. Survivors include her daughter, Judith A. (Fred) Voeltz, Eden, Wisconsin; her daughter, Joyce (John) Green, Appleton; her daughter, Debbie S. Brennan, Appleton; her grandchildren, Ryan and Kevin Green, Amy (Brooks) Beckhorn; Brittany and Bobby Brennan; her brother, Russell (Jean) Timm; Montello; her brother Roger (Georgia) Timm, Kimberly; her brothers-in-law, Father Camillus Doerfler, OFM Cap., Appleton, and Father Joseph Doerfler, OFM Cap., Appleton; her sisters-in-law, Theresa Schumacher, Little Chute and Germaine Doerfler, Kimberly; many nieces, nephews and special friends. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2004, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Brewster Village for their loving care. A memorial has been established in her name.
