Age 80, died on Monday, December 3, 2001 at Theda Care at Home – Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton. Verdaine was born on December 17, 1920, in Appleton – daughter of the late Emory and Lillian (Blieck) Meltz. She married Walter C. Weber on May 2, 1942 in Greenville. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1997. Verdaine was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. Her skills for needlepoint were amazing. She truly enjoyed her time at Pelican Lake with both the fish and good friends. She and her husband were true and loyal supporters of Terror basketball. She is survived by her son, Neil (Patti) Weber, Long Lake, Minnesota; her daughter, Cheryl Breaker, Newport Beach, California; her granddaughter, Stacey Ruiz, Neenah; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Amber; and her sister, Lillian (Jack) Renner, Neenah. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kermit Meltz, and her sister, Olive Schroeder. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2001 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 S. Allen Street, Appleton with Rev. Chris Lee-Thompson officiating. The interment will be held in Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday, December 6 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit the Theda Care at Home – Cherry Meadows Hospice program. The family would like to express deep thanks to Cherry Meadows Hospice and to all those so connected – including (and especially) Barb, Chris, Justine, Geraldine, Sandy, Kelly, Kim and all the other wonderful staff and volunteers. The care, feeling and support given is the most wonderful gift mom could possibly be given.
