Tony Boehme

On October 22, 2004 at 9:00 AM Anthony (Tony) Boehme was freed from his twenty-year struggle with aplastic anemia. With remarkable strength, he fought the disease that eventually took his life. Never complaining, he taught us the significance of cherishing each day and every relationship. The sky was always blue in Tony's world. He is survived by his parents: William and Antoinette Boehme; a sister: Ann Marie; a niece: Andrea; a nephew: Andrew; and his partner of twenty years: Tom DeLaHunt.

Visitation for Tony will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service (11:00 AM) Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 119 W. Seventh Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating.

The family would like to thank the exceptional physicians, nurses and staff on the Oncology/Hematology floor and ICU at AMC for the care and compassion they gave to Tony. In lieu of flowers, it was Tony's wish that a donation of blood be given in his name at a local blood bank.

In the comforting words of Terri, the R.N., "We will picture Tony wrapped in our Lord's arms, snuggled in his bosom, content and pain free."

No matter what its source or intensity, there’s something about suffering that simplifies life and draws us back to the basics. Invariably, especially during a time of intense trial, I go back to my theological roots. I go back to what I really believe. I return to the essentials such as prayer and dependence, like getting quiet and waiting on God. I remind myself, God is sovereign……this is no accident. He has a plan and a purpose.
