Age 48, passed away in a snowmobile accident near his cabin on Sunday, January 23, 2005. He was born in Appleton on December 6, 1956, son of Adeline (Schwartz) Eickhoff and the late Harlie Eickhoff. Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. Tom was surrounded by many friends and neighbors at his cabin in the Town of Beecher.

Tom is survived by his mother, Adeline; sister Shirley Merkes of Larson; and his nephews: Scott Merkes of Two Rivers and Dale Merkes of Appleton. He is further survived by many friends. Tom is preceded in death by his father, Harlie; brother, James; and his grandparents.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2005, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton, with Rev. David Lyle officiating. Friends will be received at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
