Timothy R. Weyenberg, age 64 passed away on March 19, 2024 after a courageous, short battle with breast cancer. Tim was born on June 19, 1959, the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Mary (Vandenberg) Weyenberg. Tim graduated from Menasha High School in 1978 and became a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Menasha for a short period in the 80s.
At the age of 19, Tim was hired by Great Northern Corporation in Appleton, where he worked for 43 years until his retirement in 2021 at the age of 62. Tim retired in his dream home in Hilton Head Island, SC, where he enjoyed riding his bicycle on the beautiful bike trails around the island, going to the beach and spending time with great friends he met there. Tim always had a love for music, especially the 70s and 80s. His favorite musician he enjoyed listening to was Bruce Springsteen. He also loved watching a Western movie with his favorite actor, John Wayne. Tim had a love of sports, watching his home teams: the Packers, Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers play. Tim never married or had children, but that didn’t stop him from loving his family. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his siblings, nieces and nephews, his best friend Matt, and other great friends.
Tim is survived by his siblings, Lynn Klapps (S.O. Jay), Gary (Debra) Weyenberg, Dan (Annette) Weyenberg, Scott (Staci) Weyenberg, and Kelly Steffen. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews, Matthew Bottine (S.O. Stephanie), Shane Klapps (S.O. Katie), Kayla Weyenberg, Justin Weyenberg, Delaney Weyenberg (S.O. Lukas), and Luke Steffen (S.O. Brecken); his aunt, Janice DeKleyn; as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Weyenberg; his niece, Miranda Weyenberg; and other loved relatives.
A memorial visitation will be held for Tim from 9-11 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM. Tim will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery in Menasha with his parents at a later date.
Tim’s family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for all their care and compassion during Tim’s time of need.
