Timothy Michael Downs age 49, entered into eternal life October 30th, 2012 after a courageous six year battle with a brain tumor. Tim was born in 1962 and grew up in Menomonee Falls, then graduated from Falls North High School in 1981. Tim attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and graduated with a Bachelors degree in 1986.
On September 27, 1986, Tim married Mary Mader and they brought two sons into this world, Cale and Noah. Tim was employed at ThedaCare as an applications analyst. Tim was a dedicated runner; a member of the High School Cross Country team, he continued his sport, in spite of the tumor, until only months before his death. He loved being active and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, playing softball and basketball golfing and watching the Packers. Tim will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of life. Tim enjoyed many things in life but nothing more than his family.
Tim will be missed by his loving wife Mary and sons Cale and Noah. He is further survived by his parents John and Helen Downs of Menomonee Falls, one brother John (Tammy) of Colgate, WI and four sisters Nancy Holewinski, Kara Doffek (Scott) both of Menomonee Falls Mary Fleischman of Pewaukee and Jennifer Karsten (Jay) of West Bend, Wi. One Brother-in-Law Mark Mader (Bonnie Gauger) of New Berlin, WI and one sister-in-law Michelle Mader (Mark Moster) Mader of Mukwonago, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
Tim was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Charlie Fleischman and his infant brothers Joseph and Thomas.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held at 11:00 on Friday, November 2nd at OUR SAVIOUR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH , 3009 N. Meade Street, Appleton, with Rev. Kurt Hoffman officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel on 3212 S. Oneida Street, and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
The family would like to thank the care teams at NeuroSpine, Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, Peabody Manor and Cherry Meadows Hospice for their expert and compassionate care. Also a special thank you to all of those who have helped and been there for us throughout this very difficult time.
