Thomas M. Syring, 80, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by loving family on March 31, 2025. He was born on September 25, 1944, to his parents Edward and Marcella (Romnek) of Wisconsin.
He was born and raised in the Fox Cities. He attended Appleton West High School and immediately after, joined the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country as a firefighter for 4 years. When he was discharged, he went to work at Zwickers Knitting Mill until they closed.
Tom was a hobby guy. He had a lot of interests. He liked playing cards, cribbage, and sheepshead. He liked to fish and go camping. He also liked woodworking. He liked to tinker and be busy with his hands. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Tom is survived by his children: Eric (Amy Lehr) Syring, Tammie Roe; grandchildren: Kyle (Summer) Syring, Heather Syring, Cayden Syring, Brooklyn Tews, Jordyn (Mitch Eggert) Roe, Justin Roe, Jaedyn Roe; siblings: Donna Kohler, Rich (Shirley) Syring, Judy (Dan) Dennee, Bob Syring, Linda (Carl VanStraten) DeWall; in-laws Chet Konwinski, Vicki Syring, Al Kranski, and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, parents, siblings: Pat (Joe) Kosiorek, Nancy Konwinski, Kathy (Jim) Moroney, Gary Syring, David Syring, Debbie Kranski; Parents-in-law Samuel (Ann) Nau and other in-laws Ed Kohler and Nettie Syring.
There will be a funeral service on Monday, April 7, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church – 410 W Lawrence Street, Appleton, WI 54911. Visitation will be from 9am – 10:30am with a funeral mass starting at 10:30. Br. Ray Stadmeyer will be officiating.
