FELLER, THOMAS R. “TOM”
Thomas Feller, of Appleton, age 79, died comfortably at home on Sunday, May 4, 2008 after living with lung cancer for 3 ½ years. He was born July 25, 1928 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Gottfried and Emma (Kreuche) Feller. On May 29, 1954, Tom married Mary Weiss in Milwaukee. He was a committed employee of AC Compressor and GE Power and Gas. Tom was a faithful member of First English Lutheran Church. He was a life-long sailor and member of the High Cliff Yacht Club. Tom enjoyed machine embroidery, oil painting and gardening.
Tom is survived by his loving wife: Mary Feller, Appleton; children: Bradley (Lisa) Feller, Green Bay; Amy (Richard) Balge, Kohler; and Clayton (Cynthia) Feller, Milwaukee; grandchildren: Laura (Dan) Harnowski and Drew Feller; Joseph and Jennifer Balge; Quinn and Ford Feller; sister: Nancy (Paul) Leuzinger, Westfield and brother-in-law: David (Penny) Weiss, Charlottesville, Virginia. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The memorial service for Tom will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 9, 2008 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 E. North Street, Appleton with Rev. David Lyle officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to High Cliff Yacht Club, Appleton Medical Center Foundation, Martha Siekman Cancer Center or First English Lutheran Church are appreciated.
The family would like to express their gratitude to their church family at First English Lutheran Church and to all the staff at Martha Siekman Cancer Center and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. Special thanks to the members of High Cliff Yacht Club for all your continued support and thoughtfulness over the years. Lastly, to everyone in Those Affected by Cancer Support Group at Martha Siekman Cancer Center and Living with Cancer Support Group at St. Elizabeth Hospital for your empathy and concern.
