Thomas Leroy Swadley, Jr., 30 years, passed away May 18, 2017 in New Leipzig, North Dakota. He was born October 10, 1986 to his parents Thomas L., Sr and Joleen M. (Jedlicka) Swadley in Appleton, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Appleton East High School Class of 2005. He furthered his education obtaining a Degree in Sociology from The University of Mississippi. He moved to North Dakota to pursue employment in the oil industry.
Tom Jr possessed many talents and interests. He was proficient in guitar and loved music, his favorites being Big Star and Laura Nyro. Tom Jr was a wiz at geography and world history with an interest in politics. His love of fishing brought him to Puget Sound, northern Minnesota, Canada, The U P, or the Wolf River and his favorite fishing spot, Sheep Creek Dam near his home, in pursuit of the catch of the day. He had a keen interest in film and loved silent films, Orson Wells and Alfred Hitchcock. Tom Jr had a great sense of humor and loved travelling, making his way to Mexico as well as cities throughout the U.S.
Tom Jr will be missed by his parents Thomas L. Sr and Joleen M. Swadley of Appleton, Wisconsin, sister Alyssa Jo Swadley of Austin, Texas, maternal grandmother Edith (Buresh) Jedlicka of Appleton, Wisconsin, uncles Terry Swadley, Richard (Jean) Jedlicka, Ed, Jr (Jody) Jedlicka, and Alan (Mindy Levy) Jedlicka, aunts Donna (Tom) Gabel and Kathy (Gary) Milske. Further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Edward Jedlicka Sr.
A Memorial Service for Tom Jr, will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11 am at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 724 E. South River St., Appleton. Rev. Stephen Savides officiant. Private inurnment Holy Angels Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at First Congregational UCC, Wednesday, May 24th from 9 am until time of Service.
