Age 60, died May 16, 2004, in, Houston, Texas. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past year and God has now graciously called him home for an eternal rest. Tom was born on August 26, 1943, in Neenah, to the late Chester and Marion (Kozickowski) Zak. He graduated from Appleton West High School in 1962. Tom worked for 25 years as the Supervisor of Shipping and Receiving for Hapag-Lloyd (America), Inc. in San Francisco, California and moved with the company when it moved several years ago to Houston, Texas. He was an avid follower and fan of the San Francisco 49ers, was in many pool tournaments, loved country dancing and had an extreme love for life. Tom will be greatly missed by his very special friends, Vince Delahay, Houston, Texas, and Don Dvojack, Windsor, California. Survivors include his sister, Marjorie Corson, Menasha; his brothers Robert (Mary) Zak, West Allis, Wisconsin, Richard (Sheryl) Zak, Indianapolis, Indiana; William (Beverly Zak, Appleton; his sister-in-law, Frances Zak, Appleton; his good friends Peg and Bill Lord and family; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Raymond Zak, Appleton, and his niece, Nickie Lappen, Shawano. The family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to Vince Delahay for the tender and loving care he took of Tom, before and during the time Hospice was used. A special thank you is also extended to the Hospice of Houston for their loving care of our brother and friend. Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Friends may call at the Tri-County Chapel on Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services.
