Thomas J. Griesbach, 71, of Appleton, died on Friday, May 26, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Tom was born March 27, 1935, in Appleton, the son of the late Oscar J. and Marie (Glasnap) Griesbach. Prior to his retirement, Tom was employed with the former H.C. Prange Company, and also worked at the Boston Store. He served in the United States Army Reserves. Tom was active with the Thompson Community Center, and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan, loved the Brewers and the Cubs, playing golf, and bowling.
Survivors include his brothers, Richard J. (Joyce) Griesbach, Brown Deer, James Griesbach (Special friend Sandy), Wauwatosa, and Robert J. (Paula) Griesbach, Memphis, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Grace) VanderZanden, Madison, former sister in law, Bonnie, and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lee.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, with Father Larry Abler, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of mass at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials in Tom’s name may be made to ManorCare Health Services or the TriManor House.
Tom’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to his social worker, Carrie Bardwell, ManorCare Home where Tom has been a resident this past year, and TriManor House for their loving care.
