Age 68, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born in Appleton on June 23, 1942 the son of the late Walter and Cecilia (White) DeDecker. Tom was proud to serve in the United States Navy. He worked for the U.W. System as a Power Engineer and had an interest in automobiles. Tom will be remembered for his social nature.
Tom is survived by his children: Julie (Tom) Vakos of Racine and Jeff DeDecker of Fullerton, CA; granddaughter, Alexia Kach; brother, Michael DeDecker of Ohio; sisters: Myrna (Marvin) Griesbach of Appleton and Sue (Ned) Wittmann of Kimberly; brother-in-law, Jim Fuerst; and former wife, Cherilyn DeDecker. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph DeDecker; sister, Barb Fuerst; infant brother, Patrick DeDecker; infant sister, Carolyn DeDecker; and former wife, Joyce DeDecker.
Burial with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the excellent nursing staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their compassionate care.
