Thomas Harold Strassman
Age 68, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure Saturday, July 6, 2002 at his home. Tom was born in Milwaukee the son of the late Harold and Elsie (Retzlaff) Strassman on September 6, 1933. Tom was in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. He married Joan Erschen on July 11, 1959 in Wauwautosa, and they would have celebrated their 43rd anniversary this July. Tom was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics of the Fox Valley. He retired in 1994 and was working part-time at Bergstrom Motors.
Survivors include his wife, Joan, children: David (Susan) Strassman, Oshkosh, Christine (Patrick) Bushman, Winneconne, Steven (Cheryl) Strassman, Appleton; grandchildren: Tara (Vidal) Rodriguez, Benjamin Strassman, Jason (friend Jessica) Strassman, Daniel Bushman, Joshua Strassman; great grandchildren: Dylan and Marcela Rodriguez, and Ethan Strassman
He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-father, Herbert Callies.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Star of Hope Chapel on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Appleton at 11:00 AM with Pastor Frank Conner officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics of the Fox Valley.
