Thomas F. "Tom" Buss

BUSS, THOMAS F.

Thomas Buss, 69, of Hortonville, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home with his family at his side. He was born on October 9, 1941 in Appleton, the son of the late Donald J. and Harriet (Drexler) Buss. On September 8, 1964, Tom married Sandra Johnson at Port Arthur, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Tom retired from the Appleton Fire Department in January of 1995 after 28 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trap and shooting sporting clays. Tom loved spending time up north at the trailer in Wabeno with family and friends.

Tom is survived by his wife: Sandy Buss; sons: Richard L. (Linda) Buss, Appleton and Michael C. (special friend Tiffany Wara) Buss, Appleton; grandchildren: Damita and Cecelia Buss; Ava Buss; sister: Connie Strong, Appleton; brothers: Timothy (Carol), Randy (Michelle) and Allan (Jan) Buss, all of Appleton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The memorial service for Tom will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, November 5, 2010 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Gordon Lane officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of service.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has offered support, love, care and visits over the years to our family. They include special friends: Fred and Mary Vercautern; John and Sandy Wicinske; the Appleton Fire Department; the staff at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca; Tom's caregiver, Karla Sterner and Chris and the staff at Stordack Hall at Wisconsin Veterans Home.
