Age 59, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 4, 2001 in Mesa, Arizona. Tom was born in Sheboygan on February 9, 1941, son of the late Arno and Inez (Egan) Lieding. Tom received a Bachelor‚Äôs Degree in elementary education and a Master‚Äôs Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. He was employed for a time by the State of Wisconsin, then in the university system as a dormitory supervisor, and taught school in Menasha until his retirement. He was a faithful and loving caregiver to his mother in her final years, and continued to be a constant source of comfort to his aunt, Loyola Smits. Tom enjoyed playing poker, and very much enjoyed the many close friends he met through his involvement with A.A.
Tom is survived by his brother: Chuck Lieding of Kaukauna, an aunt: Loyola Smits of Kaukauna, and by several cousins.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 10, 2001 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 – 8 PM Friday and again Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of the liturgy. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
