Age 68, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Cherry Meadows Hospice with his wife at his side. He was born on March 26, 1938 in Milwaukee to the late William and Ruth (Schmid) Coghlan. Tom was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee. On September 9, 1961 he married Barbara Hornibrook in Milwaukee and they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Upon moving to the Fox Cities area, Tom was employed by Insurance Services in Appleton and Coffey Insurance Services in Freedom. He was a member of the Shriner's, Waverly Lodge F & AM #51, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Beja Temple in Green Bay. Tom enjoyed anything outdoors including: working, downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, and walking his beloved dog, Belle.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Barbara; his sons: Scott (Sally) Coghlan, Menasha, Michael (Special friend Marjorie) Coghlan, Appleton; grandson: Hayden Coghlan; siblings: Gerald (Beverly) Coghlan, West Bend, Carol (Bill) Schneider, Ixonia, WI, Keith (Mary) Franz, Slinger, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Tom will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church (325 East Franklin Street) with Rev. David Brice officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's name may be made to Shriner's Hospitals or to the charity of your choice.
Our family would like to thank Theda Care at Home Hospice and the kind staff at Cherry Meadows for helping Tom and our family. We'd also like to thank our family and friends for your prayers and continued support.
