Heuer, Thomas C.
Thomas C. Heuer, age 69, passed away with class and dignity, following a battle with cancer, Tuesday morning, October 21, 2008. He was born August 17 1939, to the late Alfred and Mildred (Stroebe) Heuer, in Niagara Falls, NY and had been an Appleton resident all of his life. Tom graduated from Appleton High School-West, in 1958 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He had been employed by Kiel-Werner Electric, as a journeyman electrician from 1963 until his retirement in 2001. Tom enjoyed hunting, woodworking, woodcarving, skiing, but since his retirement his garden brought the most joy to his life, as did his grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife, Susan A. (Whitman) Heuer; his three children, Melissa (John) Coyle, Larson; Gena (Robert) Olson, Appleton; Thomas A. Heuer, Appleton; his eight grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin, Cathryn and Zachary Coyle, Anna, Claire and Evan Olson, Faith Ann Leatherbury-Heuer; two sisters, Christine (Lee) Driscoll, Waupaca; Micki and special brother-in-law, Richard Kickland, Kaukauna; three nephews, Scott (Brenda) Van Dinter, Brad (Michelle) Van Dinter and John (Dyan) Kickland; a niece Julie (Bill) Whitford; three sisters-in-law, Kathy Sager, Appleton; Mary (Stephen) Furstenberg, Neenah; Ellen (David) Rothmann, Appleton; a brother-in-law, Steven (Cathy Jo) Whitman, Neenah; nieces and nephews, Sarah and Philip Rothmann, Erik, Bryan and Natalie Whitman; two special cousin, Karen Radtke and Paul Jensen; and his childhood friend, Wes Christensen. He was preceded in death by a niece Deborah (Van Dinter) Dimmitt and a brother-in-law, Ronald Sager. The funeral service for Thomas will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 24, 2008, at the funeral home with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 pm (Noon) Friday, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
Tom's family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially Amy Ambrosius and Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara, for their loving care and support and his Garden Pals, who gave him much pleasure and joy following his retirement and cared for his garden during his illness.
