ALBRECHT, THEODORE L. “BUD”
Age 85 years, of Appleton, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at ManorCare Health Services. He was born May 9, 1920 in Appleton the son of the late Theodore and Clara (Wolf) Albrecht. Theodore married Bernice Kohl on December 9, 1958 in South Chicago, Illinois. Theodore served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Bosuns Mate 2nd Class in the Asiatic Pacific from June 26, 1944 to January 28, 1946. After WWII he worked aboard the iron ore boats on the Great Lakes as a Helmsman. Bud was employed at American Can for 23 years retiring in 1982. Bud was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Harvey Pierre Post #2778, VFW and Johnston-Blessman Post #38, American Legion.
He is survived by his wife: Bernice Albrecht of Appleton; their 2 sons: Allan (Joan) Albrecht and Donald (Paula) Albrecht both of Appleton; Theodore’s son: Theodore Albrecht of Thailand; 4 grandchildren: Megan, Katy, Ryan and Aric Albrecht; twin sister: Margaret Polakowski of DePere; brother: Robert (Marge) Albrecht of Menasha and sister: Jean Verrett of Neenah; 3 sisters-in-law: Joanne (Vince) Ste Marie of Appleton, Correne (Donald) Collar of Menasha and Shirley (Reg) Lamers of Illinois; brother-in-law: Donald (Jackie) Kohl of Appleton. Bud is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers-in-law, Clifford Polakowski and George Verrett.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2005 at 6:00 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home with Father Michael K. O’Rourke officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
