Theodora Pauline Fourness
Appleton
Theodora was born November 9, 1919; and died May 23, 2006. She married John Charles Fourness June 6, 1942, and lived in Appleton, Wisconsin. They had six children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. We fondly remember Mom as brainy, witty, caring, generous, scrappy, independent, eclectic, full of vitality and opinions, and a bit of a rebel. We thank her for teaching us to work hard, expect the best, take pride in a job well done, sprinkle life with humor, and be ourselves. We thank her for teaching us to care for each other.
Theo was a bridge enthusiast. She earned Life Master’s status. She was an American Contract Bridge League tournament director for decades, and Treasurer of the Wisconsin Upper Michigan Bridge Association for over 40 years. She was still actively employed at age 86.
For the last three years Mom lived at Angelus Retirement Community in Appleton. Our family thanks the staff for their exceptional care and attention in welcoming and enjoying Mom and making her feel at home. We also thank Theda Care At Home Hospice for their sensitive and professional care.
Theo lives in the hearts of her family who survive her: 6 children; Kathleen (Frank) Cady, Kirkland, Washington; Christine (Louis) Mancini, Bellevue, Washington; John (Susan) Fourness, Appleton; James (Marcia) Fourness, Anacortes, Washington; Ellen (James) Rossmeissl, Edmond, Oklahoma; Amy Domaszek, Dallas, Texas; fourteen grandchildren: Morgan (Chris) Buscher; Mike (Dana) McLean; Eddie and Louie Mancini; Joe (Margaret) Fourness, Mike (Kathy) Fourness, Matt Fourness, Dann Fourness, Andy, Maggie, and Katie Rossmeissl; John (Bridget) Domaszek, and Julie and Jenna Domaszek; Four great grandchildren: Cady and John Buscher, and Jack and Sean Fourness.
