Combined Locks – Terry Hurley, age 77, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
He was born in Appleton on December 24, 1943, son of Clifford and Leone (Ashauer) Hurley.
Terry was a proud member of the first graduating class of Xavier High School in 1962. Terry earned his degree from Concordia University.
Terry was drafted into the Army and served from 1965-1967.
On May 23, 1970, he married Kathy Lausman. They spent 51 wonderful years together.
Terry worked at Wisconsin Bell, Boldt Construction, and in retirement enjoyed driving school bus routes for Kobussen. Terry was a long time member of All Saints and served on the vestry and ushered for many years.
After retiring, Terry enjoyed playing pickleball, golf, kayaking and snowshoeing. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed being a spectator at all their various activities. He loved to play games, especially poker, and really enjoyed his monthly card parties with his buddies from Boldt.
Terry was a patriot. He loved and served his country, and always got tears in his eyes when the national anthem was played. He was humbled when he was invited along on an Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2019.
Terry loved life. If there was a gathering of people, he was always in the midst of the action, laughing and joking along with everyone. He was always happy. He was kind and loving and the best husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend anyone could ever ask for. He would do anything for anyone.
Terry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy; daughter Allison (Patrick) Rusch and their children Lauren, Elizabeth, Kate and Anna; his son Joe (Jodi) Hurley and their children Miles, Alex and Drew; sister Kay Hurley; brother Dutch (Katie) Hurley; his brother-in-laws Tom (Babs) Lausman; and John (Gretchen) Lausman and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Leone Hurley; his beloved twin brother Jerry and sister-in-law Cindy Hurley ; and his father and mother-in-law Harold and Mary Lausman.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 9:30-11:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am at All Saints Church, corner of Drew Street and College Ave, Appleton. Covid protocols will be in place.
