Tanner Wolding

June 30, 1992 — February 24, 2017

Tanner Duane Wolding, age 24, of Beloit, passed away in his apartment on February 24, 2017. Tanner was born on June 30, 1992, in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Jeff and Betsy (Peters) Wolding. He was a 2010 graduate of Appleton East High School. He earned his Bachelors of Art Degree majoring in English (Creative Writing) in May of 2016 from Beloit College.

He worked for the Illinois JusticeCorps at the courthouse in Rockford, IL to improve access to justice for people without lawyers. Tanner had a strong sense of social justice, a really big heart and a fervent desire to help the disadvantaged. He had aspirations to become an attorney in order to have a larger impact on society.

Tanner was a unique spirit and had SO many talents. He was athletic, playing football and rugby in high school, ultimate frisbee in college and enjoyed skateboarding. He LOVED music and was a talented vocalist. Tanner was a brilliant writer who inspired classmates and friends. He was a valued member of his church youth group and high school choir and they were very important to him. He adored all dogs, especially his dogs Bubbles and Tippy. Tanner had an incredible sense of humor, many people thought of him as the funniest person they knew.

Tanner will be lovingly missed by his parents: Jeff and Betsy Wolding and his sister Bailey. He is further survived by his maternal grandmother: Mary Ann and the late Dufur Peters; paternal grandparents: Margaret and Duane Wolding; great grandparents: Herbert and the late Evelyn Wolding; aunt: Marla (Rick) Harrmann; uncles: Dale (Pam) Peters, Kurt (Deb) Peters, Marc (Deb) Wolding, and Chris (Lisa) Wolding. He was so loved and will be sorely missed by many relatives and friends. Tanner made an impact on the lives of many.

A Celebration of Life service for Tanner will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2330 East Calumet Street, Appleton, with Rev. Roger McQuistion and Rev. Jennifer DeNetz officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Tanner's name has been established. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com
