Sylvia C. Strick

Sylvia Strick passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 20, 2006 at Gardenview Assisted Living in Menasha. She was born in Little Chute, daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Ebben) Biese. Sylvia was married to Joseph Strick who preceded her in death on October 1, 1982. Many will remember Sylvia as an avid league bowler who also enjoyed golf, dancing, and walking.

She is survived by her three children: Mary Kay (Ron) Nytes of Kaukauna; Joe (Lynn) Strick of Combined Locks; and Jenny (Dennis) Schubring of Appleton; six grandchildren: Katie Nytes and her fiancé Bud Milheiser, Sara Nytes, Mark (Deanna) Strick, David (Angie) Strick, Greg (Elizabeth) Strick, and Cory (Lisa) Schubring; ten great-grandchildren; a sister: Rosemary Niesz of Kaukauna; three sisters-in-law: Edna Strick of Kimberly, Evelyn Biese of Manitowoc, and Carmen Biese of Sherwood; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1982, an infant brother, brothers Ed (Vi) Biese, Ben Biese, Norbert (Sally) Biese, and Bob (Ann) Biese; and a brother-in-law Mike Niesz.

Fr. Larry Abler, OFM Cap., Fr. Michael K. O’Rourke, and Fr. Tom Farrell will celebrate the funeral liturgy for Sylvia at 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street in Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the hour of the liturgy. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. John Cemetery in Little Chute.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone at Gardenview Assisted Living, where Sylvia had resided for the past three years. You made her feel so much at home. Thanks also to the staff at Heartland Hospice for your kindness and care. We will never forget everything you have done for our family.
