Sylvester J. Ratajczak

Age 89, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Franciscan Care Center.
Sylvester was born on May 23, 1913 in Kewaunee, the son of the late Peter and Catherine (Muchowsky) Ratajczak. He married Rose M. Kuba on April 19, 1947 and continued farming as well as union carpentry work in Kewaunee County until he retired and moved to Appleton in 1976. Sylvester served his country during World War II as a Navy Seabee, from 1942 until the spring of 1946 in the European Theatre. He was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Sylvester was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Sylvester is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Peter (Kay) Ratajczak, Kewaunee, WI; and Randall Ratajczak, Appleton, WI; one sister, Eleanor Swintowsky, Kewaunee, WI; two grandchildren, Jean and John Ratajczak, Kewaunee, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Florence Zartler; three brothers, Raymond, Leo, and Frank Ratajczak.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH (500 West Marquette Street) at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service (11:30 a.m.). Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
