Susan Lee Wabiszewski

May 8, 1959 — July 26, 2022

Appleton

Susan Lee (Bullis) Wabiszewski, age 63, of Appleton, passed away at her home on July 26, 2022. Susan was born to Glen and Phyllis Bullis on May 8, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She attended StenoTech in Milwaukee where she received her stenographers’ certificate.

She met Jim Wabiszewski while the two were in high school, and the two were married in Milwaukee on May 16, 1981-Susan gave Jim “the word” that they couldn’t “just be engaged forever.” Susan and Jim shared 41 years together and during that time had two sons: Dustin and Taylor. Susan worked as a legal secretary in Sioux Falls, SD and also at Herrling Clark Law firm when the family moved to Appleton.

Susan loved all manner of sports and truly enjoyed watching her boys play basketball and baseball.  She also enjoyed watching the Brewers, Badgers, Packers and Bucks-any home state team was her team.  She loved the Brewers so much that at Taylor’s urging, they named their Vizla after them.

Susan also enjoyed creating floral pots around the home she shared in Appleton with Jim. She liked to fill them with “whatever looked good.” She was an exceptional bowler, and when Jim and Susan lived in Sioux Falls, SD she bowled a 278 and made the Argus Leader newspaper. It was family tradition to go bowling on Christmas Eve-and she always won!

Susan’s other great love was her grandchildren.  She was so proud to be a grandma and looked forward to all the time she spent with them!

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jim; sons: Dustin (Kim) Wabiszewski and Taylor (Carly) Wabiszewski and grandchildren: Skip and Cece. She is further survived by her brother John (Julie) Bullis and  many other friends and family as well as the entire Wabiszewski family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Phyllis.
