Susan M. Schultz, 63, of Appleton passed away unexpectedly from sudden heart failure in her home on Monday, February 18, 2019.
Sue was born November 26, 1955 in Columbus, WI to William and Verna (Voigt) Schultz. She grew up on the family farm, attended Zion Lutheran School, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1973. Sue earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from UW-Whitewater in 1977 and went on to teach 5th grade in Ripon, WI for four years. During the summer of 1981, she vacationed to South Africa and decided to stay in Cape Town for the next two years. When Sue returned to Wisconsin, she began a career in Information Technology, first working with Fort Howard in Green Bay, then Neenah Paper and Kimberly Clark in Neenah. While at Kimberly Clark, Sue combined work with her love of travel when she relocated to England for two years in the late 1990’s.
Sue was a member of Fox Valley Christian Fellowship in Kimberly and active with their mission ministry. She went on many international mission trips and led outings to City On A Hill in Milwaukee. While on the mission trips, Sue helped build schools, churches, and especially enjoyed delighting children through a clown ministry.
After retiring from Kimberly Clark in 2016, Sue filled her days with more travel, staying in touch with friends, and volunteering locally at LEAVEN, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), and the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
Sue loved the outdoors and enjoyed bicycling, hiking, and snowshoeing. She liked to attend local theatre and music productions, play scrabble, and treasured outings with ‘Fort Wilderness’ friends. Sue warmed many lives with her compassion, laughter, and curiosity about life. She will be dearly missed.
Sue joins her parents and two brothers, William ‘Billy’ and Steven, in heaven. She leaves behind a brother Thomas (Cindy) Schultz of Columbus, WI; a sister Sarah Schultz of Buffalo Grove, IL; a sister-in-law Mary Schultz of Waukesha, WI; two nieces and a nephew: Ashley (Brian) Vierck, Jaden and Gavin Schultz; a grand-nephew William Vierck; plus many relatives and dear friends around the world.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at the Fox Valley Christian Fellowship, 1200 W Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, WI 54136. Visitation will take place from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
Memorials may be directed to Fox Valley Christian Fellowship or LEAVEN.
