RYAN, SUSAN MARY

Susan Mary Ryan, age 63, of Appleton, passed away following a long illness on Thursday, April 14, 2011. Sue lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 23 years, and faced her illness with determination and grit. Susan was born June 7, 1947 in Neenah to Joseph F. and Margaret (Gallagher) Ryan. She graduated from Neenah High School and UW-Oshkosh. Sue worked as a teacher and real estate agent.

Susan is survived by her mother: Margaret Ryan, Appleton; her siblings: Patrick (Sue) Ryan, Woodland Hills, California; Kathleen (Tom) Long, Appleton; James Ryan, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Richard (Candace) Ryan, West Hills, California; nieces, nephews and her special life-long friend, Mory. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Ryan, in 1982.

The funeral liturgy for Susan will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton. Fr. Tom Long and Fr. Dennis Ryan will be co-officiating. Interment will take place at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Cemetery, Neenah. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Sue's caregivers, especially Sally, Jenifer, Karen and Jean.
