Susan Mae “Sue” Jochimsen, 65, Appleton, passed away on March 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Sue was born on July 3, 1948 in Chilton Wisconsin to the late Earl and Mae (Seefeldt) Kossman. She was a 1966 graduate of Chilton High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. On February 27, 1971 she married Jerry “Snookie” Jochimsen in Chilton Wisconsin and they recently celebrated 43 years together. She was employed with Valley Bank for many years. She left Valley Bank to follow her dream and passion, caring for children in her home as Miracle Daycare. Family and friends were most important to Sue but she also had a deep love for all children. In addition to caring for their own children, Sue and Jerry opened their home to many foster children over the years. She enjoyed family gatherings, camping and travelling. In 2012, Sue and Jerry enjoyed a dream vacation, travelling together from coast to coast, east to west. She enjoyed bird watching and loved Cardinals. She also enjoyed trips to local casinos.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Jerry, her children and grandchildren: Jessie (George) Schwalbach, Menasha and their children Kailee and George; Jodi (John) Jackson, Neenah and their children Meqhuan, Rashawn and Araeah; Jason (Andrea) Jochimsen, Freedom and their children Cameron, Parker and Rylan; Tim (Stacey) Jochimsen, Neenah and their children Jordan and Payton; and Tony Jochimsen, Neenah, 3 sisters and one brother: Alice “Allie” Schultz, Sheboygan; Mary (Richard) Reisterer, Chilton; Betty Kossman, Illinois and John Kossman, Chilton. She is further survived by the many children she loved and cared for over the years, both her foster children as well as those she cared for in her daycare and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services for Sue will be on Friday April 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Appleton Highland Memorial Park, 3131 North Richmond Street, Appleton. Visitation will be at Highland Memorial Park from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday.
