Susan Arfstrom

October 31, 1939 — February 16, 2008

Susan Arfstrom, age 68, passed away with dignity and courage surrounded by her loving husband and her daughter and best friend, Laura, Saturday February 16, 2008. She was born on Halloween, October 31, 1939 and was raised by her loving grandmother, Emma Drexler. She married the love of her life, Bert F. Arfstrom Jr. on October 10, 1959 and they enjoyed 48 wonderful years together. Together, Susan and Bert raised three wonderful children, Steven,
Laura and Timothy.

Mom's most important job in life was being a loving, loyal, faithful, caring, supportive and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, partner and best friend to her family. Loving and cherished memories will remain in the hearts of her loving husband, a special son Steven and his wife Deborah, her precious daughter and best friend, Laura and her husband Gerald Burrows and
special son Timothy and his wife Heidi.

Mom always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren who where her pride and joy. She leaves behind nine very loving grandchildren, Brian and Melissa Arfstrom, Ryan, Ashley, Laura and Michael Burrows and Bryce, Devin and Brennan Arfstrom. She was the proud godmother of Ryan, Ashley and Michael Burrows. Grandma will always love them and will forever hold them close to her heart.

Mom loved her family unconditionally. She was always forgiving, never judging and always including and never excluding. She was the glue that held our family together. She had a special gift, of making whoever she was with, feel like they were the most important and special people in her life. She was everyone's best friend. Mom made many long and lasting friendships throughout her life. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will be sorrowfully missed by each of these individuals.

She was preceded in death by her brother Gary and grandmother, Emma Drexler.

To our very special wife, mother, grandmother, and godmother:

You have been the most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and godmother that anyone could be lucky enough to have. The strength that you have shown throughout your entire life has been truly remarkable. You lived your life for your family and have touched so many other lives. We love you so very much and you will be missed every day of our lives. Thank you for a lifetime of beautiful memories. You will remain in our hearts forever.

You may own a million dollars but you're the poorest of them all if you don't have your beloved mother to answer when you call. Though her smile is gone forever and her hands we cannot touch, we will continue to hold on to so many memories of our mother, as we loved her so very much. God has her in his kingdom and we will have her in our hearts. So if you have a mother, cherish her with care, for you'll never know the heartache until she's no longer there.

Grief and pain is the price we humans have to pay for the love and total commitment we have for another person. The more we love the more we are hurt when we lose the object of our love. In our hearts our memory will always be kept of the one we loved and we will never forget.

Mom:

A mother's love is forever, nothing or no one can ever take it from you for it lives within your heart and your memories will be apart of all that I do.
Throughout my life you have been my rock, my confidant, my hero and my best friend. I will miss your voice, your smile and all our special times we had together. I will miss all of the wonderful things that made you, you. You will always be in my heart.
I love you mom
Your precious moment
And loving daughter
Laura

Susan:

You have been the wind beneath my wings. You lifted me to heights that I never realized I could achieve. You have always been there to support and encouraged me to work to achieve goals that I established and you were also there to console me during the times when I failed. You are my first love and only love and I will never forget the first time we met, at a Valentine day dance. You were dressed in red and you were the most beautiful girl there and you made my heart flutter. I will always love you and miss our very special times we spent together alone or with our family.

Love and kisses
Your husband, Bert
